Few years ago I was on a job, it was one of my most-tasking job ever and it got me super busy; I hardly had time to do any other thing apart from work. My routine was work, eat snacks, continue working and doze off while working and back to origin – start working again. Exactly! Sleep was just not to be considered. So I can remember talking to myself one day, I was like: “Once I’m done with this work, I will have to start working out, I am getting too out-of-shape for my liking!” Beloved, I finished that job and I didn’t start my work out. The summary of it all is that I kept on procrastinating and it became a habit. So Tip 1: There is never going to be enough time to have time for what you want to do! (it is actually correct, no typo there. Just read it again) So if you have anything that is important to you, the best time to start is NOW!

Eventually, I was able to convince myself to start but not after I passed through another huddle: WHERE TO ACTUALLY DO THE WORK OUT! Could you believe that there was no single gym close to my house? Not even the quack or substandard ones – absolutely nothing close by. For like a week, I kept on telling myself that there was no gym close-by (and I wasn't lying actually.) I was ready to start, make out time and start but no gym anywhere around. A friend of mine came visiting and she made a comment about my weight, you know I think it was a compliment but something inside of me still felt it as an insult (I guess that was why I voiced out to her about my efforts) "Hmmm and I have been looking for where to start working out but none close to my house so I don't even know what else to do" I told her as a fireproof response. But I think she was prepared for me already so she was like "Gym ke? Can't you be doing press-up in your room? Then use your bed as support to do push-up. Even self, you can be carrying heavy stones as weight lift or is the instructor that is making you look for gym? Because I can do that one too oh (we are very close friends so we speak freely with ourselves but I still think this her idea was born out of the fact that I will be paying some amount to go to the gym.)" So Tip 2: You don't need to have everything as STATE-OF-THE-ART or standard before you can start… You may not have all the money you need or all the tools/equipment that you need to start but that which you have, use it and start anyway!

So I started my daily workout in my humble room (don’t ask how many press-ups per day, it is my work out not your own) and I remember this very day, It was like the third week after I started the workout, I was totally less busy that day and as early as 6am I was exercising; feeling energized and motivated I crossed my daily routine of 30 minutes. 1 hour gone and I was still working out; I spent almost 3 hours working out (I still cannot explain how it happened) but I just kept on going, one of the reasons being that I wanted to get into shape quickly. That night, I was disappointed: Remember I said this was like my third week into the working out process? So some excess fat was already disappearing so I thought if I could work out for longer hours, it would hasten the whole process and more fat would disappear but the reverse was the case, I stood by the mirror several times looking for any improvement but there was none; no change at all…. That night, something dawned on me: Because you did great work for one day doesn't mean everything will change drastically, to see the change I needed, I had to continue the 30 minutes routine over a period of time. So Tip 3: Your change and progress is not exactly tied to one day of intensive work/focus but the accumulative work done consistently over a period of time. 10 minutes work continuously every day is by far better than 4 hours work of one day. The result you desire is in consistency.

  • Because you are doing a lot more than others doesn't mean you are getting a lot more done than others.

You don't get ahead by pulling others down.

If you wake up without a goal or dream then go back to sleep.

Tomorrow is a product of today's activity.

In order to change the world, you have to get your head together first... Change yourself then you can change the world!

Always be ready and willing to do more than what is expected of you.

What occupies your thought per time will determine your end in life.

What seems to be our major problem today is not the unavailability of resources but the confusion of purpose.

Without expectation, satisfaction/fulfillment can never be attained!

What you get by reaching your destination is not nearly as important as what you will become by reaching your destination.

Defeat never comes to any man until he admits it. Never admit defeat over your dreams and you will never be defeated!!!!!!

Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world. You too can change the world if you have both.

A winner is not a person that wins but a person that never gives up..
